By using Compare the Heat you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

What this site is

Compare the Heat is an independent guide. We research travel brands, compare them, and link out to them. We are not a travel agent and we are not a tour operator. We do not sell flights, accommodation, transfers, car hire, insurance or any other travel product, and we take no payment from you at any point.

Every booking you make happens on the partner's own website, under the partner's terms, with the partner's customer service. Your contract is with them and not with us.

How we are paid

We earn commission when a reader books through one of our outbound links. This costs you nothing extra, and it does not change the price you are shown.

Commission does not determine the order in which brands appear or what we say about them. Where a brand we rate has no affiliate programme, we still list it.

Accuracy, and its limits

Prices, availability, flight times, temperatures and cost figures change constantly. Anything you see here is a guide, gathered at a point in time, and may be out of date by the time you read it. Always confirm the current price and terms on the partner's site before booking.

We check our links but partners move pages, close programmes and change their offering without telling us. If you find something broken or wrong, please tell us and we will fix it.

Travel compensation information

Where we mention compensation for delayed or cancelled flights, we are describing the general position under UK and EU rules. The amount payable depends on flight distance and the reason for the disruption, and no compensation is due where the cause counts as an extraordinary circumstance, such as severe weather or air traffic control action.

This is general information, not legal advice. Whether a specific claim succeeds is a matter for the airline, the claims service or a court.

Travel insurance and financial products

We are not authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority and we do not give financial or insurance advice. Where we mention insurance we are pointing you at providers, not recommending a product for your circumstances. Read the policy documents and decide for yourself.

Reminder emails

Reminder emails are sent only to people who ask for them. They contain affiliate links. You can unsubscribe from any email in one click, and doing so stops the entire sequence. How we handle your data is set out in our privacy policy.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for checking passport validity, visa requirements, health requirements and entry rules for wherever you are going. We do not check these for you. Consult the FCDO travel advice before you book.

Liability

We provide this site as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses arising from your use of the site or from any booking you make with a partner. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

The writing, layout and images on this site belong to us unless credited otherwise. Please do not republish them wholesale. Quoting us with a link back is welcome.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
